Making Saint Luxury

• Recording Locations:

  • Drums: the Broadberry in Richmond, Unkempt Studios in Williamsburg

  • Guitar/Bass/Piano: Dad’s Garage in Richmond, Unkempt Studios in Williamsburg

  • Vocals: Ivakota in DC

    • We spent so much time in traffic on I-95 making this album

• The lyrics to Saint Luxury came to me at a Superchunk concert at Black Cat in DC

• Nate convinced me that “The Last Jedi” had some redeeming qualities while we recorded guitar for “After All”

• Guitar parts were mostly written on acoustic guitar because I couldn’t play through my amp in my apartment

Design

• Rebecca spearheaded the design and made a bunch of awesome mood boards to help us find the right aesthetic

• We took a bunch of photos in front of Maydan and then we went to see The 1975 at The Anthem

Tour

• We started the tour at Bodo’s Bagels in Charlottesville, VA

• Ben bought his first synth at the Chicago Music Exchange

• Danny Clinch let us play at his gallery in Asbury Park

• The Indiana venue was owned by Afroman

• The bathroom flooded at the venue in Milwaukee during our set creating a float moat around the stage
